This footwear is the grandchild of the desert boots I used to wear in college over half a century ago! They are better because of the new sole which replaces the crepe rubber one. I'm happy I found a pair at Zappos in my size, 7.5, a not always easy thing to do. Great with a pair of jeans.

These Simcas are great for dressing up a pair of jeans or dressing right a pair of chinos. They're comfortable right out of the box, but there's a short break in period where they mold to your feet. The other big selling point for me were the outsoles; they're made out of some kind of special hard rubber material so they're not only slip resistant but also very durable. My only real complaint is that these shoes don't also come in black.

I just received these shoes the other day (next day shipping, thanks Zappos!) and am wearing them for the first time today. I can't believe how comfortable they are right out of the box! Ankle boots often chafe on the top edge when new, and these don't at all. As usual for Clarks, you need to size down; I normally wear a 12 and these fit me really well in an 11. I have narrow feet and these fit great (might be too cozy for someone with wide feet). They are a little dull style-wise, but look pretty decent. The leather is great and overall are very lightweight.
