I was so disappointed when I put this shoe on. It was really really comfortable, but both shoes squeaked so badly that you could not walk in them without making a horrible noise.

Look:I have narrow feet and high arches so is often difficult to find shoes that stay on the back of my feet. The softwalk San Mateo fits well and is comfortable. It can be casual dressy or worn with sportier clothing. I appreciate how quickly the shoes came after I ordered them.

Look:The shoes are beautiful and fit very well. However, the toe part squeezes the toes between the top of the shoe and the bottom, or I would have kept them. Otherwise, they are great, but I\'m not going to wind up with corns and calluses.

Look:I am very hard to fit and normally wear Birkenstock sandals year \'round for comfort. I wanted a closed-toe shoe for winter so thought I\'d try these. They were true to size and very comfortable from the moment I put them on.

Look:These shoes are comfortable and quite nice. Needed no breaking in. The color (walnut) is a little unusual (not light, not dark, not brown) but I am getting used to it. A good shoe if you have to do much walking.\r\nSize seems accurate, and good arch support.

Look:FANTASTIC SHOE!!! I have limited mobility due an accident which left me with both ankles broken and foot problems. Finding a shoe that does not hurt is almost impossible. There was no break in period with the San Mateo and the comfort was a God send :-).

Look:Having had this same SoftWalk style in woven pewter and being so pleased with them, I ordered the same style in black woven for this fall season. I found that I need one half size smaller in this particular style. Order size 7 Narrow in these as opposed to 7 1/2 Narrow in the other SoftWalk styles I buy. I have have worn SoftWalks for a number of years and consider them a blessing to very painful feet. Plus is that they also look nice!

Look:Bought this shoe two years ago and they were amazingly comfortable from the first day I put them on. Ordered another pair recently and found them to not be nearly as comfortable as my first pair. The primary difference is that the manufacturer lined the inside of the woven leather uppers with a material that does not allow the leather to easily conform to your foot shape. I'm hoping that with usage, the shoe will gradually become more comfortable.

Look:I love these shoes. Wearing a 12 narrow and finding comfortable "wear 12-hours shoes" is sometimes hit or miss, but not at Zappos! I wear flat shoes at work because of some medical issues and these are excellent. These are a true AA Narrow. No break-in time required. I liked them so much I have them in the blue foil and plain black leather. They are "softwalk" in comfort without being too grandmotherly. If you need to put them on your feet and go, I absolutely recommend these.

Look:Wonderful for walking around; will use them as slippers because of softness and support, far better than most slippers.Have the woven variety.\r\n\r\nHowever, the "pewter" is gold, not pewter; if they came in pewter, would order.

Look:These shoes are cute but even better they are super comfortable. You feel as if you are walking on little pillows. I thought they were quite true to size as I have very wide feet.

Look:I can't wear open-toed shoes for my work, so wanted at least something open in the back during the summer. I also need arch support. I tried a few other shoes and didn't like them, so went with these. I have a pair in blue with a different pattern on the leather. For some reason, the right shoe rubbed my small toe the first few times I wore the shoes, so I had to wear a band aid. The problem went away. The shoes are otherwise pretty comfortable. My bigger complaint with the new shoes was with the color of the leather rubbing off on the backs of my heels. It was maddening. My shoes are black so it looked like my feet were dirty. It was so embarrassing. I finally covered over the offending areas with clear nail polish and so far, so good. I shouldn't have to do that with a new pair of shoes, though. The shoes are maybe an overall 3.5, but not a 4.

Look:I purchased these shoes, and LOVE them! I work on my feet several hours, several days a week, and let me tell you these shoes are a little bit of heaven on my footsies! They have like the little version of the egg crate technology for shoes. Comfort plus! LOVE them!

Look:Love this shoe!! I have a narrow foot and would love to see more AAA & AAAA widths. However, SoftWalk has enough "pillows" in the shoe bed to be comfortable without adding my orthotics. Have had many compliments on the style and design. I have a heel spur so avoid closed in shoes. Shop for mules, clogs, slides whatever they're called to keep the heels free. I have other SoftWalk styles and they're all winners...Any shoe I can wear for most of the day walking about, sitting, or whatever will always be my choice. I cannot shop by price-- only by size and comfortable fit that will stay on my foot.

Very unhappy - I have at least 4 pair of SoftWalk shoes in my closet. Unfortunately this style does not meet the quality of other shoes. They are not a true 2E and the leather is very stiff. Since I wore one of the pairs outside I am stuck with them but I will be returning the other pair that I purchased. I hope that future shoes that I purchase will be more true to size and width.

Super Comfort - First of all, I have horrible feet. Bony, big bunions on both feet and old feet, but these shoes are like walking on clouds. I love them.

Stylish comfort - The woven blacks are quite stylish and the soft walk memory foam insole very comfortable. I have high arches and the provide some, but not perfect, arch support.

Look:First off I love Zappos! Second, these shoes are really comfortable but do run narrow and seem to be a 1/2 size smaller than your usual size. I ordered one pair, returned them and am okay with the second pair. I could probably have ordered a wider width because the medium width they have runs small.

Cheaply Finished. I bought these as a lower-heel alternative to Soft Walk's Murietta clogs. I was disappointed. These Chinese-made shoes (I bought the woven ones) are made of very thin, heavily glazed leather. Just trying them on in my home and walking around caused gray cracks to appear across the top of the shoe, where the leather glaze was breaking. The toe cap has a tiny point on its edge -- in the center -- to indicate to the people in the factory where to place it on the shoe. I'm returning these.

Great sexy mule - When I received this mule, I was very excited because it is so much prettier in person than in the pix. I chose the brown with the silver floral embossing. The first time I wore them, they took a bit of adjustment but since then, I can wear them all day without even knowing they are on. They are also surprisingly lightweight! I also got three compliments from different people the first time I wore them. They are very diverse as well as they can go with dressier slacks/jeans or casual. They also can be worn coming into the spring/summer season. I highly recommend this shoe -- I will be buying another pair shortly.

Review of the SoftWalk San Mateo, blue scrolled leather - Felt shorter and the uppers not as soft as my last pair of san mateos. However, I’m keeping them and hoping they will soften with time. Also the toes are not as high up as the other pairs' toe, just not as comfy. As usual the soles are heavenly, and I’ll buy more from this line I’m sure.
